  3. It's me again. I'm so euphoric about this ranking for the last days :)

I wonder if you could do me a favour. If you have time, of course...

Let us think that the only match that is going to be played in September is the match between Serbia and France, 9th September in Belgrade. Let us also think that Serbia wins that match 1-0. Is it somehow possible to calculate the ranking for only these two nations and find out how many point they would gather? Thanks.

PS. I'm sorry for my English, i know it's terrible :)

    Regards

  4. Another Serbian guy has asked the same thing on a forum.

If Serbia and France only play this match in September, Serbia (1003 points) will overtake France (958 points). However, France also have the home game against Romania. If Romania don't lose in Paris, you'll overtake France.

    So, quick recap:

    IF

    France fail to defeat Romania

    AND

    Serbia defeat France

    THEN

Serbia will overtake France in the October 2009 FIFA Ranking.

  5. OK. Thanks a lot. Come on Romania and Serbia!:)
Since you are from Romania, what do you think about the match France-Romania? Is Romania going to play with their best players, or is the coach going to combine the team since they are eliminated? I personally think Romania has good chances to win if they play on their best!

    Again, thanks a lot!

  6. Australia are rocketing up too. If we beat South Korea and Holland and get good results in our Asian Cup qualifiers a top 10 start to the World Cup is not inconceivable. Unbelievable but true. Aussie football fans are having a fantastic time right now!

  7. Regarding France - Romania. Lucescu knows (or at least I hope so) Romania need points for the EURO 2012 seeding. I don't think he will experiment.

    Congratulations Australia! :)

  8. is there any way you can work out how many points australia will have if in their matches in september and october they beat sth korea, draw with netherlands and beat oman.

    ReplyDelete
  9. 880 points.

You have to keep in mind Oman (74) and the Netherlands (3) could change their positions in the October ranking - the ranking that will be used to compute the points for your matches against them.

Winning all three we'll get you to 910 points.
