  1. According to this FIFA ranking preview in May 2010, these would be the results at the World cup:

    1/8
    France-Greece; England-Serbia; Netherlands-Paraguay; Brazil-Chile; Argentina-Uruguay; Germany-USA, Italy-Cameroon; Spain-Portugal

    1/4
    France-England; Netherlands-Brazil; Argentina-Germany; Spain-Italy

    1/2
    England-Brazil; Germany-Spain

    Final
    Spain-Brazil

    Champions: Spain

There's just a change: Uruguay instead of Mexico.

    Best regards,

    Juan

  3. Hi Edgar!

I just want to know, although it is a very stupid question, how big are Serbian chances in getting in top 10 with all three victories in their group on the WC (against Ghana, Germany and Australia). As the rankings are now, I reckon both Croatia, Russia and Egypt will fall down the latter. Probably Greece as well... And with Serbia now ranked 15th, I think top 10 is quite possible. I assume the teams like Mexico, Uruguay and Chile also have big chances of making that goal.

    Another two questions would be:
    1) Can teams that are not playing the World Cup still climb the rankings?
    2) Can teams at the WC get any extra points, even though they're losing matches?

Hope you understood! All best from Serbia.

  4. Regarding Serbia - you'll have your answer in a week. It's a bit more complex.

Teams not in the WC can gain points due to devaluation of older results.

Teams in the WC can't gain points if they lose matches. There are no bonus WC points.
