  1. How is Palestine ranked below Bangladesh (who moved up from 174) and Myanmar when they beat them last month? 2 wins and 1 draw (vs. Philippines), with such a low ranking I expected a 15-20 point jump for Palestine.

  2. how can scotland lose so many points after losing to brazil?

  3. @B

    There are various reasons:

    1. AFC Challenge Cup matches are considered friendlies for FIFA ranking purposes - thus Palestine got few points.
    2. Palestine played few matches in the last 4 years and none of them were wins. With the exceptions of these two wins in March.
    3. All these teams are below 150th - few points for a win.

    @b

    Scotland would have lost 7 points even without this loss. However, they lost another 27 points because the 1505.5 match points in the last 12 months are no longer divided by 7, but by 8.

  9. @ Edgar

    Can you please provide a Points computation for Philippines, why we slipped 4 places to 155th? A friend of mine got 212.5 points for the last 4 matches. Can you confirm it? Thank you very much!

  10. @Anonymous (April 8th)

    Traffic stats. No, I'm not releasing a final final preview :)

    @Botswana

    Devaluation of older results. Also, with a win against Namibia you'd have had 487 points. With not game against Namibia - 507 points.
    The match against Morocco was not a FIFA "A" match.

    @Philippines

    Yes, I can confirm it :) 212.5 points.

    You lost 2 points because the average of the last 12 months dropped.

    In March, 12 games, 765.85 points = 63.82 average.
    In April, 16 games, 978.35 points = 61.14 average.

    You did qualify for the next stage, but you had a loss and two draws in the last four matches (average for the 4 matches: 53.125). This brought your average down by 2 points.
