Right now, the seeds for the 2014 World Cup would be: Brazil, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Portugal and Argentina.
May I ask why you bother with these? They're so far away (2014 World Cup Finals Draw) and so very much could change it seems irrelevant at this point, and will be for a long time. Why do you go to the trouble?
ReplyDelete@Lorric -- well, I, at least, enjoy the laugh.
ReplyDeleteMore seriously, there are a few people that like to try to keep FIFA to something that at least somewhat approaches a standard.
While FIFA changes things all the time, considering how much media now follows (and, without attribution, steals) information from this website, that media will at least be able to see ahead of time what seeding should have been before FIFA, once again, invents a new way to give seeds to the 'teams that should be seeded'.
Well, the points total now is based on the 20%-part (I presume from somewhere in October 2009 until October 2010) and the 30%-art (October 2010-October 2011).
ReplyDeleteIt will get interesting from October 2011 onwards, when the games of the 50%-part will be played.
And from October 2012 (the 100%-part) things will really heat up. And by then the teams that have qualified or most likely will qualify are known, so a much more accurate prediction can and will be given.
For now, it's just fun to watch Japan being seeded...
ERic, Tobcoach - thanks for answering Lorric's question.
ReplyDeleteLorric, it's interesting for me and it's my blog so even if it doesn't make sense sometimes for those who read, I will still post things I find interesting :)
Can you provide a breakdown of the US's total? It would be greatly appreciated.
