  1. Have fun, Edgar. Happy holidays! And hey, you probably wouldn't have had anything or anything much to do the next two weeks anyway! How considerate of you to plan your vacation around us, ha ha! :)

  2. so first I of course also wish Edgar a nice vacation! :)

well, but as he is not “available” at the moment, I would like to ask a question to rest of you...

...because when I was reading this blog today (for the first time after last ranking was published), I was really surprised to not find dozens of messages complaining about all kinds of “inconsistencies” in this ranking…

    so just as an example:
(again) some countries have different points shown in the ranking list and in the overview (shown at the right after clicking on a country)

Country - Points in overview - Points in rankinglist
    Uganda - 394 - 398
    Bahrain - 340 - 350
    Kenya - 240 - 269
    Palestine - 113 - 137

  3. Here's some shocking news, for the Dutch at least: Germany will replace Holland as the world number 2 in the February ranking. beacuse both teams wo'nt play until Feb 29, the rankings for February can be calculated. The Dutch will have 1359 points, Germany 1369 points.
Also, Uruguay are closing in on the Dutch.

I think this is a result of the extremely good year 2011 for the Uruguayans and Germans, and the not so good year for the Dutch. And if Holland doesn't step up to the plate the coming months and in EURO2012, they could well find themselves outside the top 10 in July 2012.

  4. @EngelRS4

I think (without checking though) that the differences are because of FIFA including matches after the deadline. I haven't had difference bigger than 2 points for about 2 years I think.

    @Toabcoach

Thanks - wrote a post starting from your tip :)

In the mentioned cases the overview displays the points-totals from the old (november) ranking, which is of course incorrect.

By the way, in my opinion Palestine should have 128 pts in the december-ranking instead of 137 pts (see the points-calculation below). Where am I mistaken ?

  7. Don't bother to answer, I see it already:
    the match BHR-PLE (20/12/2011) doesn't count for the december-points.
