EURO 2016 qualifying draw seeding (29 March 2013)

Next update: March / April 2013.

The coefficients for the EURO 2016 qualifying draw will take into account results from:

2010 World Cup (qualifiers and final tournament) - 20% of total weighting
EURO 2012 (qualifiers and final tournament) - 40% of total weighting
2014 World Cup (qualifiers) - 40% of total weighting

France will host the final tournament.

The qualifying format is already known (but things might change): 9 groups (2 x 5, 7 x 6)

Top two from each group and the best team in third place advance. The other eight play-off for the final four spots.


 Best movers:

5 - Ukraine, Belgium and Bulgaria
4 - Estonia
3 - Croatia and Iceland

Worst movers:

-4 - Switzerland and Belarus
-3 - Norway, Slovakia, Armenia and Scotland

Ukraine, Belgium and Israel replace Switzerland, Norway and Slovakia in Pot 2.
Austria replace Belarus in Pot 3.
Bulgaria replace Northern Ireland in Pot 4.

  1. I always have this in mind: "Gianni Infantino stated in March 2012 that UEFA would review the qualification competition to ensure that it was not 'boring'."

    I wish they would realize that changing the number from 24 back to 16 participants would be the best solution to ensure that.

  4. Gibraltar admitted as new UEFA member. I assume they will be just placed in the last pot..
