The coefficients for the EURO 2016 qualifying draw will take into account results from:
2010 World Cup (qualifiers and final tournament) - 20% of total weighting
EURO 2012 (qualifiers and final tournament) - 40% of total weighting
2014 World Cup (qualifiers) - 40% of total weighting

France will host the final tournament.
The qualifying format is already known (but things could change): 9 groups (1 x 5, 8 x 6)
Top two from each group and the best team in third place advance. The other eight play-off for the final four spots.
Pot 1: Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, England, Portugal, Greece, Russia, Bosnia-Herzegovina
Pot 2: Croatia, Ukraine, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Republic of Ireland
Pot 3: Serbia, Turkey, Slovenia, Israel, Norway, Slovakia, Romania, Austria, Montenegro
Pot 4: Armenia, Poland, Scotland, Finland, Latvia, Wales, Bulgaria, Estonia, Belarus
Pot 5: Iceland, Northern Ireland, Albania, Lithuania, Moldova, FYR Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Cyprus

In the regulations for EURO 2016 some changes in the bonus-points system are mentioned:
ReplyDelete- play-offs: both EURO and WC was 6000, becomes 4000;
- group stage: EURO was 9000, becomes 8000; WC was 6000, becomes 8000;
- round of 16: EURO was n/a, becomes 12000; WC was 9000, becomes 12000;
This leads to some changes in the NT-ranking mentioned above:
- a switch in positions between Switzerland and Denmark (still both in pot 2), Slovenia and Turkey (still both in pot 3), Slovakia, Israel and Norway (all still in pot 3)
- and as most significant change: Armenia will climb to pot 3 and Montenegro will drop to pot 4.

What about the coefficient calculating for the teams that have hosted final tournament in recent years? What about information that Poland will be in pot 3 and Armenia in pot 4?
Yeah, it seems there is another change in the regulations regarding the treatment of european hosts of a EURO or WC. As a host does not participate in the qualifying for their home tournament, for the calculation of the NT-coefficient the results of the previous qualifying tournament were incorporated to avoid a distorted calculation.
DeleteIn the new regulations for EURO 2016 it is stated that in that case the results of the most recent qualifying tournament shall be used instead.
This leads to the following coefficients:
for Poland: 23002 (jumps over Montenegro and Armenia to pot 3)
for Ukraine: 30902 (jumps over Croatia, still pot 2)
and for France: 30933.

DeleteOk, thanks for sending your ask to UEFA. But I must to ask you if you see any uncertainty in the changed regulations. The other parts of document seem to be re-written from the previous one so the changes seem to be intentional, not accidental or unperceived.
DeleteThere is a particularity in the new calculation for Ukraine: in the cycle two they use the points earned in the wc2014 qualifiers but with the old value of the play-offs bonus points (6000 points for each match). In the cycle three the bonus points are 4000 for each match according to the new rules. So for the same qualifying campaign Ukraine has 383530 in the cycle two and 379530 in the last cycle.. total 31156 according to the official publication by UEFA http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/competitions/General/02/04/77/16/2047716_DOWNLOAD.pdf
