2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying draw seeding for CAF (25 July 2014)

Assumptions:

- CAF will keep the current qualifying system
- FIFA will use the FIFA ranking to seed the teams
- CAF will choose the July 2015 ranking for seeding


The July 2015 FIFA ranking will include matches played between July 2011 and July 2015. The "0.5" time frame just closed.

This the July 2015 ranking (for CAF only) using matches played up to and including July 24th, 2014.

Changes since the last update:

Benin climb from pot 2 to pot 4.

Guinea and Sierra Leone replace Burkina Faso and Senegal in pot 1.
Benin and Congo replace Uganda and Morocco in pot 2.
Botswana and Lesotho replace Kenya, Niger and Ethiopia in pot 3 (remember Benin jumped from 2 to 4).

First round

Pot 1: Zimbabwe, Kenya, Niger, Equatorial Guinea, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Namibia, Rwanda, Mozambique, Liberia, Sudan, Burundi, Mauritania, Central African Republic
Pot 2: Chad, Malawi, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Gambia, Swaziland, Sao Tome e Principe, Comoros, Seychelles, Mauritius, South Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti

Second round (group stage)

Pot 1: Algeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, Tunisia, Mali, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Cameroon
Pot 2: Burkina Faso, Libya, Benin, Congo, Senegal, South Africa, Cape Verde Islands, Angola, Zambia, Togo
Pot 3: Uganda, Gabon, Morocco, Congo DR, Botswana, Lesotho

Pot 3 and Pot 4 will be completed with the 14 winners of the first round.
