  1. Hi!

I was wondering if Mexico and Jamaica have an unfair advantage as they're playing both Copa America and Gold Cup, which means more competitive matches.

    1. Yes, there was an opportunity, but both failed to perform.

    2. Undeserved? You mustn't be seen Romania performance in Group F of Euro 2016 Qualifiers. I think they deserved it.

    3. And then they're in Pot 1.

    4. Romania haven't been that good. Only 1 point clear of a team with only 1 world class player in Lafferty in a group they should be walking

    5. @Andrei - At most 7th.

@Anonymous Romania have no world class player.

  3. Costa Rica are losing 23 places this month; where will they end in August ranking should they win the Gold Cup?

    1. Andres, elo predicts that they win their three group matches and the quarter final (against Panama), but then lose to the USA in the semis and win in the third place play-off against Guatemala. With that set of results Costa Rica will end at around spot 23 in August.
If they win their semi and consequently the final against Mexico then Costa Rica will land at around spot 18, making up for almost all the lost ground in July. But for that a good, deep run in the Gold Cup is necessary anyhow. Success !

    1. no Croatia is the last team in Pot 1, Slovakia is still behind Italy as 2nd and 1st in Pot 2 respectively

    2. No, actually Slovakia is the top ranked team in pot 2, then Austria, and only then Italy with only 1001 points.

  7. Quick question,
Does anybody have a complete excel doc for FIFA Rankings that I could use and another question how come when I use the FIFA Ranking tool, the Confederation Coefficient changes, for example CONCACAF has .92, .925, and .95 and UEFA has both .99 and .92.
    Thanks!

  8. Will the 3 - 0 result (FIFA sanctioned Barbados for fielding an ineligible player) awarded to Aruba also count for the FIFA ranking points?

    ReplyDelete
  9. yes, Aruba collects 211 points in the July-ranking (instead of 125 points with the loss) and jumps from spot 151 in June to somewhere around spot 135, close to their all-time high of 120 reached in June 2014.
