Hello, Eduard. Since I personally calculate this ranking too, I found some issues in your method of calculations:
ReplyDelete1) It seems that there is a mistake in Gibraltar's points.Since they are playing in Euro 2016 qualifying only, their total points should not be divided by two, so the actual amount of points is 7.800, not 3.900.
2) You add 10.000 points for each remaining non-played match in Euro2016 qualification, but you don't add any points for WC2018 qualification; on the other hand, you include those matches, using zeros for each match instead. So, e.g. Germany's total points should be 23.078, if taking into consideration WC2018 qualification (10.000 point for each match too).
3) Also, I don't get how you calculate France points. They got 34.702 in cycle 1, and they virtually have 10.000 points for 10 not-played matches yet in cycle 2. 34702+(10.000*2)/3=18234 (if in this case dividing by 3, not by 5). And your points are 18091.
1) You're right.
Delete2) Will include the 10000 after the playoffs.
3) I try to "simulate" a campaign, by using France's 2014 qualifying results. They will actually get replaced by the 2018 WCQ results when the UNL comes around.
Lower-tier nations − the bottom 16 in rankings − are now guaranteed one of the 24 qualifying slots for UEFA EURO.
ReplyDeletePerhaps that's the reason why Greece started to lose all matches....
