1 match left. It's Egypt shooting themselves in the foot yet again. You have to admire their persistence. They have a friendly vs. Burkina Faso tomorrow. But who knows? - they might very well make it to Russia 2018 despite doing everything in their power to avoid Pot 1.

Dear:
ReplyDeletein the previous report you said Congo DR maximum points are: 564
http://www.football-rankings.info/2016/02/fifa-ranking-march-2016-preview.html
but here is 585 !!
and FIFA.com gives Congo DR 558 although the last match was ended by penalties.
any info about that?
FIFA.com is mistaken anyway (not the first time) as they didn't give Congo DR the 2 points for the PSO-win in the CHAN semi final against Guinea.
DeleteThe 585 above must be a typo as Congo DR will have 565 points in the March ranking after their CHAN victory. Congrats with that convincing win, btw.
Great.
Deletethen, Congo DR in March 565.
Thanks dear
dear
DeleteI think the match of Congo DR vs Guinea already calculated on Feb, because you said in this report
http://www.football-rankings.info/2016/01/fifa-ranking-february-2016-final-preview.html
the maximum points for Congo DR is 550 points and in FIFA.com Congo DR taken 570 points on Feb!
What do you think dear ?
Thanks
No, I don't think so. In the February ranking the CHAN quarter finals are incorporated. The semi finals and final of the CHAn tournament count for the March ranking.
DeleteThe maximum 550 that Edgar presented earlier for February is without the correction of the awarded WC-qualifier Congo DR - Burundi which was originally a 2:2 draw but became a 3:0 win for Congo DR.
Btw, for an anonymous you are fairly affectionate :) My name is Ed, not dear.
Now that Egypt has won their match vs Burkina Faso, where are they likely to place in the March 3rd rankings? Still in 60th?
ReplyDeleteMorgan, Egypt will have 589 points on spot 53 in the March ranking.
ReplyDeleteI see, thank you Ed. So that would put them at 7th in Africa overall.
DeleteCAF top 10 for March - Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Egypt, Congo DR, Rep Congo, & Cameroon.
