Love the site, read it for many years. Question for you - it often gets mentioned how teams would be better off not playing friendlies in terms of their rankings, and that fielding more than 6 subs renders a game "unofficial"...so why don't more teams play friendlies and use 7/8/9 subs? That way they get the match practice, gate receipts etc and don't affect their ranking. I'm sure FIFA would clamp down but surprised it hasn't been done
ReplyDeleteDon't know why - perhaps they don't know about the rule. On the other hand it would really look like cheating, teams would lose prestige and sponsors over this.
