AFC MA Ranking update (15 September 2017)

Weighting for the FIFA ranking part of the formula dropped from 30% to 10%. The MA ranking at the end of the club season (November 2017) will be used to determine the slot allocations for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

FIFA ranking points computed for November 2017, considering scheduled matches as defeats.

See previous update.

West

India and Jordan overtook Kuwait, while Tajikistan leapfrogged Bahrain. (More on this here). If Istilkol get at least 1 point vs. Bengaluru, Tajikistan will overtake Jordan and will face India's I-League champions (the ISL champions will be IND 2), instead of Uzbekistan's 3rd team.

India are very close to Syria (in 7th), but a long way behind Iraq (6th and direct ACL group stage slot).

  1. Mate, is there any website listing all the points history for MA rankings like what Bert Kassies do for UEFA rankings? If there isn't, I want to try creating it

    2. The ranking website has been created on Wordpress. Now it only contains results from 2013, but I will update it in the near time. Feel free to visit the site at https://footyrankings.wordpress.com/ . Cheers.

    3. Is there any info about the club ranking formula? AFC Cup format changed in 2017, so stages like round of 16, quarter-final, and semi-final don't exist anymore. Is it possible that AFC don't look into club ranking since it is not used for anything?

  2. Hi.. I'm from Malaysia... for 2018 only 1 club from malaysia participate in AFC Cup instead of 2 clubs.. that's because 1 club didn't get AFC licence.. and the next club in line which suppose to take the place refuse to participate due to financial matter.. is there affected the Ranking points or it will be an advantage? Because if 2 clubs enter the tournament the point will be average points between 2 clubs rather than only 1 club which is only 1 club point will take into account... is it true the calculation is that way or is it the point must be divided into 2 because supposedly 2 club should participate? thank you for your reply.. sorry for my poor english..
