  2. Guys, the deadline for matches counting for the June ranking is June 4th. India-Kenya (and the rest) will count for the July ranking.

    1. Thanks Ed. But the match between India and Kenya along with many other were played on 4th June itself. Wont it be counted? Also why won't Georgia fell in rankings after their loss against Malta. Malta is ranked near about 180 and Georgia at 96.

    2. All matches played on June 4th (yesterday) and today and later this week will not count for the June ranking but for the July ranking. Only matches played before June 4th will count for the June ranking.
Georgia-Malta on June 1st ended in a 1:0 WIN for Georgia.

    3. But today Fifa rankings list matches after june 4th for the june ranking, maybe you are mistaken?

    4. I only see the June FIFA ranking just published today: India on spot 97 with 350 points. I think that's what I wrote above.
      What's your point ?

    5. If you checked the Fifa rankings website (India section) , it seems they also included the India-Kenya friendly (which happened on june 4th) into the June Rankings, and you said that matches played on June 4th and further are not included. The same thing happened with many matches of other teams that held after june 4th. I wonder if they're actually still counted for the June rankings calculation?

    6. Ah, that's where you were looking. Well, I can only say that's just plain wrong from FIFA. They are contradicting themselves. If IND-KEN would have been included in the June ranking India would have had 353 points instead of the 350 points FIFA publishes in their own June ranking !
In the meantime I've compared my ranking above with FIFA's: the only difference I found was caused by the match BHR-PLE, played on 7 June 2017. According to me this match should be counting for the first timeframe (BHR 282 and PLE 340 points). FIFA has wrongfully assigned this match to the second timeframe (BHR 289 and PLE 347 points). This is very strange because all other 12 matches played on that day are all assigned to the first timeframe, as it should be.

  3. I don't really understand this technique of ranking teams. Austria who defeats Germany in a friendly match remains in the same position while teams that have had no matches or even lost still climbs up significantly !?

  4. I suggest to read the calculation procedure and keep in mind it is all about averages: sum of points per year divided by number of matches per year.

  5. Rankings are not that accurate. England wod beat at least 3 above them.

  6. Geez Moldova will be ranked below Liechtenstein in July...the former will have 72 points while the latter will have 74...
